    Baby-Friendly Place: Westfield Topanga

    By metropolitanmama | March 5, 2007

    I have decided to start a new category for the MM blog: baby-friendly places. This category will highlight various destinations (shopping centers, parks, restaurants, airlines, grocery stores, etc.) that were designed with moms, babies, and kids in mind.

    In a previous blog, I lamented the fact that so few retail and commercial sites offer amenities (changing tables, nursing lounges, strollers, kids menus, high-chairs, balloons, etc.) for parents and families. Here I will celebrate those who do.

    LOCATION #1: Westfield Topanga shopping center in Canoga Park, CA (near L.A.)
    Available Amenities:
    * Large, spacious family restrooms with changing tables, free wipes in a wipes warmer, toys, comfy seating, large-screen TV with children’s programming, private nursing lounges, a bottle warmer, a microwave, and hands-free automatic faucets and paper towel dispensers
    * Free strollers that can easily be wiped down with an antibacterial wipe
    * Balloons for kids
    * Story hour on Saturdays
    * StrollerFit exercise program
    * Free walking club w/ weekly complimentary breakfast and guest speakers on health-related topics

    P.S. Do you know of other great places throughout the U.S. that do great things for kids, babies, and parents? Post them here!
