    Children’s Book Spotlight: Madeline

    By metropolitanmama | March 20, 2007

    Madeline by Ludwig Bemelmans

Originally published in 1939, this book is truly a classic. The endearing illustrations that are both fashionably European and childishly simplistic are truly memorable. Additionally, any little girl will love to read about the adventures of the plucky and fun-loving little girl named Madeline.

I must admit - the story is a bit silly and the rhymes don’t always roll off the tongue perfectly. But it remains a timeless and enchanting book nevertheless.
