    Free 1st Birthday Cake

    By metropolitanmama | November 21, 2007

My daughter celebrated her first birthday two months ago (and she loved it - as you can tell from the photo). Prior to her party, I checked with several area grocery stores to see if they offered free 1st birthday cakes, but I was disappointed to find that Frys, Safeway, and Albertsons no longer offered that service to new parents.

I did, however, just receive a coupon in the mail for a FREE 8″ single layer 1st Birthday Cake from Fry’s (or another grocery store in the Kroger family, excluding Food 4 Less). It’s too late for me to use, but I’d be happy to mail it to one of my readers. If your little one will be celebrating his/her birthday before January 20, 2008 (that’s when the coupon expires) and if you have a Kroger grocery store in your area, send me an e-mail at stephanie@metropolitanmama.net prior to Saturday, November 24, at midnight. I’ll select one winner on Sunday, November 25.

By the way, do you know of other grocery stores or shops that offer free birthday cakes, toys, or other gifts for baby’s first birthday? Post them here!

    * UPDATED* Congrats to aBookworm, the winner of the FREE birthday cake coupon!

Byerly’s offers free birthday cakes on your child’s 1st birthday with proof of a birth certificate. However, I live in Minnesota so I’m not sure if there are Byerly’s elsewhere in the country.
