With the coming and going of Christmas (and after reading this post by Steph at Adventures in Babywearing and watching the movie she mentions), I’ve been thinking a lot about the amount of “stuff” in our life. There are toys and books, clothes and shoes, furniture and frivolities, odds and ends…all throughout our house.
I am all about simplifying my life and tonight we’re doing our semi-routine “purge” – going through our house and filling up bags for charity and bags for the garbage man. And we’re hoping to not just go out and replace our old “stuff” with new “stuff.” We want to focus on other things that matter…
Like teaching our daughter that life is not about “stuff” (but about people).
We also want to be responsible about the kind of world that we leave behind us for the next generation (you know the message…recycle, reduce, reuse).
One small way to do this is by cutting back on the amount of plastic and “disposable” bags that we use every week (think about all those trips to the grocery store, Target, the corner drugstore, even the library).
Of course, there are all kinds of excuses that I tell myself: “Cloth bags are too bulky, too difficult to carry, too inconvenient.” Well, not all cloth bags…take, the flip & tumble bag, for instance. The flip & tumble bag rolls up into a tiny ball and fits into your purse with ease (plus, it doubles as a toy for an antsy toddler when you’re on the go!). All you have to do is pull it out and – kazam – it’s one easy way to help save the world!
Only fifteen bucks to buy a bag that will help me save the world? I’m in!
WIN IT! One winner will receive a flip & tumble bag. To enter, simply leave a comment and your e-mail address prior to Friday, January 4, at midnight. The winner will be announced and contacted on Saturday, January 5. * Winner must provide a U.S. mailing address.
* UPDATED * The winner is #55 bree. Congratulations!

This is great!
Sounds great, and I can’t believe it gets so tiny! gumbi1313@msn.com
This is cool. It would be great for travel to stick into your suitcase when you anticipate needing a carry-on for a few extra souvenirs on the trip back.
What a great idea for a bag! It seems so easy to scrunch in!
Cool! Count me in!

This is a great product! I would like to try it. cookiecutter72 AT hotmail DOT com
I was just telling a friend how overwhelmed I feel with STUFF everywhere. Of course, my kids don’t want to get rid of any of the dusty, unused toys that are sprinkled throughout the house even though they scored big time with Santa. Ugh, I’ll wait till they go back to school and start clearing out…
Sounds like a good product. Count me in.
Hi, What an unusual, fun bag! Please enter me in your contest. Thanks,Cindi

I love how tiny that bag is. I try to reuse the plastic bags from Target and the grocery store, at least, but this would be a great item to use, too. And I hear you about the amount of “stuff”. I think we all get that slightly overwhelmed feeling just after Christmas. I, too, have to wait until the kids go back to school, then I can purge a bit more.
Handy, dandy!
cool bag!!!
Wow, that really is amazing!! Thanks for sharing!
I’m in the market!
We love reuseable bags!

I’m trying to simplify my life as well. I just love this bag, what a great idea! I have a few canvas bags, but I almost always forget to bring them, lol. This is such a great idea, hope to win!

I am so on the same page as you are. Funny, I posted the Story of Stuff on my blog yesterday. I think I need to watch it at least once a month to stay focused….especially when I want to rush out to the mall to buy the “it” shirt for date night. Also, I am totally tracking with you about keeping our kids educated about stuff and what is important. I would love to use this bag and love it when I see others at the grocery store using reusable bags. Thanks.
Love the idea! Count me in please!
Great IDea! Id love a reusable bag. Ugh- even though I do reuse those plastic bags- for shipping, poopy diapers, and dog cleanup. I hate to see the tons of bags we come home with- not to mention those that break because of heavy items- a reusable bag would be just the ticket!jbubolz-miller@hotmail.com
What a cute bag!
We would love this! thanks
Thats a super neat idea.. and yes I hear you on the stuff bit.. Ive been cleaning out the house and posting most of my stuff on freecycle which is great as other people can use it and it doesnt go to the dump!

That was a great video…made hubby and i think about all the “stuff” in our lives. I didn’t realize that this is another way we are hurting our environment. We too would like to rid ourselves of the excess (and avoid replacing it with more stuff).
Wow, this is a great bag!

I’ve got a couple reusable bags, but they’re kind of bulky, and I often forget to bring them into the store with me. I love that this one rolls up so small. No more excuses!
I love this concept. I have also thought about how bulky cloth bags can be and that is what has held me up with carting one around. This is right up my alley. I am way into my purging right now!

I love this ! I do my best to remember to bring my cloth bags to the store but often forget them since I keep them in the trunk. I love how I could toss this in my diaper bag and GO! Awesome!
I have some Chico Bags, which I like, but I’m always looking for more reusable ones so I can cut my plastic bag intake to zero. Hope I win!
We have pretty much cut out all plastic bags in my house, this would be really useful.

I have a diaper crammed with all the essentials, but there is totally room for this little guy in my bag. I love it! We bought the cloth bags our grocery sells, but they are still pretty bulky. What a cool win! Pick me!!!!
My husband would be so proud if I won. He’s trying to save the world one plastic bag at a time!
