FitMama Friday: Motion Skort by Brooks

I love running skirts. They’re flattering, feminine, and fashionable. Not to mention that they’re also fun AND functional. In my opinion, they’re more comfortable than shorts (which often bunch up or chafe the inner thighs - I have to mention one exception here: my Roga shorts by Oiselle), more modest than spandex, and more becoming than sweatpants.
I recently tried the Motion Skort by Brooks. The website states that its a “versatile, smart skort to help you look and feel great no matter where your busy day takes you.” And it IS all of those things and more. The material is light, breathable, and stretchable. The look is incredibly cute…so cute, in fact, that you could easily run to a coffee shop or stop in at the grocery store or go to a playdate afterwards without looking frumpy.
Oh and this skirt is one of MANY cool items sold by Brooks. You should check out their site. While you’re there, you might want to apply to become a “lab rat” for Brooks’ Biomechanics Lab Testing Program and/or Wear Testing Program. If you are selected, you get to test running shoes (and sometimes keep them!). Who doesn’t love the prospect of free shoes?

Ok, so my toddler is 15 months old and I still have 10 pounds to lose. For some reason I’m just not motivated. While I want to fit into my pre-preg jeans, I just don’t take the time to run like I used to. But man, with this cutie-pie, I know that would seal the deal. In fact, I should probably run to Target and pick up some cute workout gear. Maybe that’s the motivator I need! I’d love to win this cute skirt!

I LOVE my skorts - I use a biking skort (specially padded), and have ones for working out. I feel much less exposed and able to go between functions (the gym, store, picking-up/droping-off). Skorts are much more flattering to a range of body types than shorts.

I love this skirt, but what makes it different is the pockets…..I LOVE THE POCKETS…no purse needed. Hands free to laugh, play, work, shop, or just look chic.
