Welcome to “Tuesday Tours: What’s Happening on the Web” where I serve as your tour guide and showcase the best contests, freebies, deals, and reads for moms on the web…all in one convenient location.
Contests
Wish you could wear a necklace, but does your nursing baby always want to grab it and stick it in her mouth? Now, she can! Check out the Teething Bling pendant from Smart Mom Jewelry – and win one of your own on One Crazy Mother. Hurry! The deadline to enter is TONIGHT at 8 p.m.
We saw National Treasure (and liked it!), but haven’t gotten around to watching National Treasure 2 yet. I’m hoping that I win the DVD from Classy Mommy. Deadline: TONIGHT!
I’m always looking for new organization solutions and, in fact, I could be in the organizing section of Target for hours. I just stumbled upon this Joey & Jane Underbed Zip Bag on the petit elefant site. You can win one by leaving a comment before May 21.
Do you have a hard time keeping your kids’ shoes organized? Check out the Shoe Wheel by Rakkiddo over at One Chic Mama. Such a cool design! Enter to win it before May 23.
Another opportunity to just say no to plumber’s crack! Win a Hip-T over at Livin’ With Me (and see Melanie model hers…). The deadline is May 23.
Here’s another opportunity to win a protective swimsuit and matching hat (this time from Protect-A-Bub). Stop over at Chic Shopper Chic before May 23 for your chance to walk away with a 2T suit.
Kiwi Magazine is one of my favorite parenting magazines (I love the focus on natural living). Cristina at Green Mom Finds likes it too and she’s giving you an opportunity to win one of two subscriptions…now through May 26.
I wrote about our experience with Your Baby Can Read about a month ago and we’re still very pleased with the videos (although my daughter’s interest in them is waning a little bit…). You can enter to win one of five Deluxe Learning Learning Kits over at Momsational right now. Leave a comment before May 29.
I love pretty little hair clips for my daughter from boutique companies. The Opinionated Parent is giving away a $15 gift certificate to Clippopotamus. Leave a comment before May 29.
On my last post about babywearing, you all raved about the Ergo Baby Carrier…and now I really want one! Fortunately, Along for the Ride is giving away one this month. Enter before May 30.
Can you think of someone who is your “blogging hero”"? Nominate him/her for the Who’s Your BlogHer Hero? contest, sponsored by Wiley. The nominee will receive a trip to San Francisco (including airfare and accommodations) to attend BlogHer! Enter before May 31.
Win a signed copy of The Business of Being Born DVD, produced by Ricki Lake. It’s an eye-opening film about the birthing industry in the US that I think most moms and moms-to-be will appreciate the honest questions that it provokes. Fill out the entry form at Classy Mommy before May 31.
Expecting this month or did you just have your baby? Vlasic is looking for a May baby to be the Vlasic Stork Baby. Submit a photo and 50-100 words why your baby should be the Vlasic Stork Baby, along with date of birth, sex, height and weight…and you could win a $20,000 savings bond. The deadline is May 31.
Freebies
Fill out this form for your FREE subscription to Country Home magazine. I always love flipping through magazines and ripping out pages for my “dream house” portfolio.
Good Reads
Janice of 5 Minutes for Mom wrote a guest column on Scribbit today and boy, do I relate! Here’s an excerpt: “My children have to share me with my work.I feel guilty just typing it. But it is true.”
Another benefit of breastfeeding? The New York Times reports: “Breastfeeding Tied to Intelligence” (5-13-08). The study specifically focuses in on prolonged breastfeeding…
Announcements
Looking for a job as a…blogger? Check out the ProBlogger Job Board. If you see something you’re interested in, apply quick. I hear the jobs fill up fast..
Miscellany
I just found this community – Daybreak Utah – by way of one of my readers who lives there. It’s a sustainable community where everything is within walking distance…parks, a lake, the grocery store, shops, etc. This is the kind of neighborhood I want to live in! I’m going to write to the developers tonight to ask them to consider AZ for their next location.

I just got an Ergo a couple of weeks ago and I do love it. Alexa is still a little small to really be comfortable in it but Allison loves riding on my back.
That was a neat article on breastfeeding. Just one more reason!
Thanks for blogging about my giveaway!!
I really liked the article on breastfeeding. Just the other day I went to get my haircut and the lady at the salon told me that I should stop breastfeeding because my little one is 8 months its nice to hear other sides. Thanks
I live right by Daybreak. It really is a fabulous place to live and a great community. If you ever decide to move there, we could be neighbors. :)
Thanks for the contest shout out…A winner was just picked a winner for the Smart Mom Jewelry Teething Bling Giveaway!!
I obsessively check that blogger board…methinks it’s time to BEG b5 media :)

I second the motion to bring a Daybreak-type community to Arizona—innovative urban planning like that can make such a difference.
