    Proud to Be an American

    By metropolitanmama | July 4, 2008

I’ve been thinking about Zimbabwe today because we sponsor a little boy who lives there through a non-profit organization called World Vision. In case you haven’t been watching the news lately, the country is in quite a state of turmoil. I worry about our little guy and all of the people there. I pray that peace and goodness will prevail. I dream of a land without disease and corruption, a place where little children can grow up without fear.

And I also think about how grateful I am to live here, to be raising my daughter in this glorious place - in America, the Home of the Brave and the Land of the Free.

      Well said!

Also for the troops who are not home with all of us, enjoying BBQ, fireworks and the warmth of the soul we all get!

Yes! It seems so many Americans take this country for granted. On July 4th, we looked at how many homes were flying our flag. It was very disappointing to see so few.

I was raised in Zimbabwe and I still have most of my family there, it’s very hard times right now.
