Oooh, you'll have to tell me about your travels sometime. I love to travel, as well, and I'm totally willing to do it with kids, even with ten pounds of diapers and fifty potty stops. Now if we could just find a way to make trekking across the States and the world free...

You've certainly visited a lot of interesting places! That's so wonderful to be able to teach your children about different cultures through your own experiences. Traveling with a baby is no picnic, but I do believe the experience can be more bearable with a little preparation. I'm looking forward to reading all of your tips!

We've flown several times with our 2 y/o, but always within the states. We hope to travel overseas with her frequently as she gets older. We think it's the best way for her to learn about other cultures; to teach her to appreciate what we have in the United States, but also to teach her that other cultures have things to offer that we are lacking; and to help her learn to be open and accepting of peoples of all colors and ethnicities.

Stephanie, I know you've visited my site, but just a heads up to other readers that I have a list of tips for flying with a toddler posted at:

I enjoy traveling to new destinations too! We just traveled across country with our baby, and it had its moments, but overall it was a success (we were still pretty tired from the experience though). I love the hands-on education that comes with learning from other people, cultures, relgions, and geographic areas. Some of my best memories...and I can't wait for my children to have similar experiences.

We have our first 2 child trip coming up in a month. We'll be visiting family in Mexico. It involves a 2 flight trip both ways. Thankfully neither flight is very long and I hope we have long enough layovers each time. We'll have to decide which stroller to take which baby carriers, who gets the stroller and who gets carried. The last time we went Allison did great despite being stuck on the plane for hours then in Houston overnight sleeping on the floor in a hotel lobby. (Storms in Dallas diverted us.) So, I'm really praying that doesn't happen this time! I'm looking forward to what you have to say, I'm sure it'll help us out.

Oh my goodness, I have lots of experience traveling with babies!! I have traveled w/o my husband with our daughter and son since birth about 6 times from Arizona to Michigan(those who don't know,we spend ALL day flying). Let me tell you, it is an art. When it used to be just our daughter and I it wasn't too bad, but when our son was an infant and our daughter was 3 it was very chaotic. I would like to say that I have mastered it now that they are 5 and 3 years old. I always start the trip off with a VERY PATIENT and FLEXIBLE mind set. I know that I have traveled successfully when I get praises from other people saying how well behaved my children were!
