I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wished I had one of these. We have a steam cleaner, but it’s so cumbersome and such a process to use that it seems silly to get it out for just a small spot or two. So instead those spots just don’t get cleaned up as well as they should. Between a dog and a toddler, we have our share of spots.

Dad’s dog is not well! Has accidents all the time and he’s getting frustrated. He’s 94 1/2 and can’t really maneuver the large carpet steamer. This would be good for him – it is only a small dog.

This would be perfect – I am used to pulling out a cleaning product and then applying some serious elbow grease to the spots that turn up (and they do turn up!) but this would make things so much easier. Thank you for all of the wonderful contests! This contest is especially important to me. Why? Dirt Devil products have always been my favorite because they always do the job, never leave any sign of “the mess”, they are lightweight and easy to carry throughout the house. I would use the Dirt Devil Spot Scrubber Power Reach in my Family Room (mostly) because it has carpeting, and we have 3 small dogs. Our oldest dog, Muffin, is eleven, a cute Shih-Tzu who has recently developed congestive heart failure. She takes a diuretic and heart medication everyday. Muffin never had accidents before beginning the meds. But, at her age and the medication working…she occasionally has unavoidable accidents. Ok.. Your husband sounds soooo cool! I need someone around the house that likes to try out new things and clean. (Other than me.. I think I’m becoming OCD about it, I can’t go to bed at night if things aren’t tidy. I don’t need to dust, but I MUST tidy up.)

Unfortunately these cute and handy little devices just encourage people who know nothing about carpet cleaning to SET in stains so they can NEVER be properly cleaned.
Hint #1: A stain/spot should NEVER be scrubbed! Stains should be blotted with a clean white cloth usually moistened with whatever solution (water, white vinegar…etc.) best suits the stain/spot being addressed. This information comes straight from the carpet manufacturers! Scrubbing violates the carpet and stain guard warranty.
As a professional carpet cleaner I often encounter the results = set stains, carpets that have for all practical purposes been bleached, dyed or had irrevocable damage done to the fibers. Of course folks then expect me to correct their mistake; often a year or more after they made it…you get the picture.
It seems like we are always having those “oh-no” moments here. Especially with my daughter who is fixing to turn 2.
We have a few of those “mystery spots” around our house too! They just seem to appear out of thin air. Every time I mention renting a cleaner, my husband says we should wait ’til we have more spots to make the money and effort worthwhile. I can see how handy it would be to be able to whip out this little gem and bid ‘adios’ to the mystery spots.

I love this! A friend of mine has one that look similar but bigger and I’ve borrowed it from her a couple of times. It worked really well. We do have lots of little spots here and there and I suspect that there will only be more as time goes on. I’m sure I could put this to good use, probably too much use!

What a great little product! This is an exceptional alternative to dragging out the bulky carpet cleaner that takes 15 minutes to set up — all for a small stain. Before I could get my carpet cleaner set up, this little guy would have the job done!
Over the years, carpet cleaning has gotten better and better. I’m so glad there is a lightweight, small scrubber that takes up little space and makes the chore easy enough to take care of it right away. One time when my son was about 5 months old I placed him in the middle of the living room floor to kick about while I went in the kitchen to clean up. When I came back I noticed that he had squirmed his way about 5 feet across the room and in the process had squeezed some excrements out the back of his diaper and left a trail on the carpeting behind him. First I grabbed my camera because I couldn’t resist his smiling face and THEN I grabbed the stain remover. The stain remover worked OK, but boy could I have used this handy dandy little invention.

The small carpet cleaner would be so nice. I mostly get dirty carpet at the entrance to the bedrooms where I have carpet. I have tile or wood everywhere else. It costs quite a bit to rent a carpet cleaner at the store and they are large and awkward to use especially for limited areas. This just may be the answer to my need to clean but to do it in a good way.

I have two boys, two dogs and a husband. I keep my gigantic steam cleaner in the corner in the living room because I use it so regularly on spots. I have been looking at Bissell’s *Little Green* for some time and meaning to get in to pick one up. I need one of these! With 7 adults, 6 children (under the age of 6) and 3 dogs, this would be a great help! I had a hand-held steam cleaner, years ago but it did not have scrubbies or retractable cord! It was such a pain in the rear to use because I had to haul it around with a scrub brush and a bucket of water just to get the spot(s) clean, this one sounds terrific and very easy to use! Gosh, I would even be able to clean the sofas in the family room with this, what a novel thought! I’d really love to win it!

Would love to have one of these. I recently borrowed my mother’s large Bissell steam cleaner which did an awesome job, but I’m a little daunted to use it on the stairs–I mean, that thing is LARGE–but I notice how they could use a little attention, especially now that the rest of the carpets are clean.
Seems like it would be great on upholstery as well! We have this applesauce stain on one of our chairs I’d be happy to test it out on. :)
