I have all of our photos uploaded into PhotoBucket. That way out of state family can view them, and if something happened, I’d still have them (even though photo bucket shrinks the resolution down). It took me hours to do, but I finally got through them all. If you don’t have your photos backed up on CDs, you should do that. You never know when the computer could just die on you. I’ve had that happen a few times before so luckly I also keep photos backed up on discs.

Thanks for the review, I always wonder about buying a larger, nicer digital camera such as this. In addition to having a great camera, we just lost all our pictures from a hard-drive crash. Of course, we didn’t back-up, so lesson learned. Once you have the pictures, take very good care of them: back-up your drive. :)

Nice review! Do you have to know something about photography in order to use a DSLR properly? Or can you get by with a point and shoot method?

I’ve often thought about the house-burning-down scenario, too, and similarly, I would be most devastated by the loss of my pictures over all my other possessions. My photos are also all on my computer, but my computer isn’t a laptop like yours, and therefore, I can’t grab it in a hurry. Do you have any storage tips or reviews of special products that might help for someone in my boat?

I’m dying for a DSLR, and I’ve been studying up on them. Janice from 5MinutesforMom also said the Sony DSLRs are very nice. I just wish I had an extra 600 bucks lying around right now…

Well, I guess it’s nice to have something to dream about. :)
