Secure2Me: A Blanket that Stays Put

My daughter was a September baby and people often expressed sympathy for me, lamenting the fact that I would have to endure the long hot days of summer. I, on the other hand, felt quite fortunate to be blessed with an early fall baby because she arrived just as the harsh rays of sweaty sunshine were being shooed away by gentle breezes and crisp autumn evenings.

picture 1 296x300 Secure2Me: A Blanket that Stays PutThe wonderful weather meant that we could take delightfully long walks outdoors without too much worry about whether our little one would be overly hot or uncomfortably frosty. I did, however, fret about the intensity of the sun in my little beauty’s eyes and the gusts of wind that sometimes greeted us on particularly blustery afternoons. On those days, I usually tried draping a light blanket over the infant carseat carrier – where my daughter was tucked securely inside. My attempts were usually futile because the blanket would inevitably blow off on to the street or get stuck in the stroller, defeating the original purpose to block sun and wind from my newborn’s delicate skin. It was quite frustrating at times – having to pull the disobedient blanket in place every few strides.

picture 3 300x71 Secure2Me: A Blanket that Stays PutCreated by a mom, the Secure2Me Baby Blanket (“Clips on, Stays on“) provides a solution to this all-too-common dilemma.  Each corner of the blanket features a clip that allows you to attach the blanket to a carseat, stroller, even a swing! If you live in a colder climate and want to keep your babe as snug as a bug, you’ll probably want to go with the original Secure2Me Baby Blanket, which features a soft and cuddly material. If, however, you live in a warmer climate like I do, you will appreciate the mesh breathability of the Eclipse Solarveil Sun Protection Cover. The blanket blocks 95% of UV rays and keeps your baby fully covered, but is also lightweight and sheer enough to waylay any fears you may have of stifling or overheating your little one.

WIN IT! One winner will receive a Secure2Me Eclipse Solarveil Sun Protection Cover ($29.00). To enter, leave a comment on this post prior to Monday, October 20 at midnight (don’t forget to follow the rules). * Winner must provide a U.S. mailing address.

*UPDATE* The winner is #4 Becca. Congratulations!

I was forever clipping blankets to the stroller, car seat, etc with clothes pins . . . this would look much less hokey and have UV protection to boot.

What a smart mama and business woman to come up with this. I love that you feature these hard working, creative women.
Its so true! That Arizona sun is brutal, and no carseat built-in-shade is big enough! I’d just love to have one of these for our little one on the way. I’m sure he or she would love not squinting or getting sun burned too!

  4. Becca says:

My friend has a sling in a fabric similar to this, and raves about it. I’d love to win this for the baby we hope to adopt soon!

  6. Jenny N. says:

My little guy was a November baby so we had to endure a LONG Minnesota winter with a newborn. We used our BundleMe well into April. This time, however, we’ll have an April baby which means I’ll need something just like this to protect my little one from all the gorgeous sunshine while lounging on our Minnesotan lakes.

Thanks for the chance to win!

This is a fabulous idea! We lived in a very warm climate when my first was born. After moving somewhere much colder for the next, we realized what a struggle it is to keep the blanket on and the baby snuggly. This idea is perfect. Granted, some days are too cold, but I don’t like giving up outdoor walks in the winter for fear of her becoming too cold. what a perfect solution. Thank you for the chance to win!

It’s already getting colder around here, and I much prefer to put my son in a blanket in his stroller than all bundled up and uncomfortable in layer upon layers to stay warm! We had an infant blanket thing for the car seat, but he outgrew it (it was “footed) so this would be great to add to our stroller :)
