I went to the dentist two weeks ago for a cleaning and check-up. Our dentist is a jolly older man with laughter in his voice and a propensity toward seeing things positively (which is actually quite rare for dentists I’ve heard…).
Anyway, he said my teeth look wonderful. My gums are a bit inflamed from being pregnant, but that’s about it.
I attribute that “diagnosis” – in large part – to my toothbrush: the Philips Sonicare FlexCare with Sanitizer.
This brush is powerful! It cleans and scrubs and massages…and it has been proven to reduce Gingivitis in just 2 weeks. It features 3 brushing modes and a timer (choose between a 3-minute MaxCare routine or a 1-minute GoCare routine). Plus, the brush comes with TWO heads and a UV sanitizer (which also serves as a place to store heads when not in use). On a more superficial note, the FlexCare is stylish and sleek-looking and it’s lightweight as well. The only downside of the brush is that it is a little on the “loud” side…that motor really whirs away as it works.
I am absolutely convinced that buying/using a better toothbrush improves dental hygiene. Better dental hygiene equals healthier teeth which translates into fewer trips to the dentist and fewer cavities…which translates to better health and more money in my pocket!
Retailing for between $130-$150, the brush IS on the pricey side. That said, it’s a product I use multiple times per day, every day. And it improves my quality of life.

a good friend of mine is an orthodontist. he recommends this brush based on research studies AND the results he saw with patients. i have a different, poor man’s version of it in another brand which works alright, but the UV sanitization holder for the brush heads would be great. i’d really like to give this brush a try.
i’ve started my little guy on a kiddo sized toothbrush. he mostly plays with it, but he’s independent enough to insist on doing the job himself. however, he has fun watching me with my motorized toothbrush which he likes for me to use on him every once in while.

Interestingly, my teeth used to be perfect. I was one of those kids that never got a cavity, no matter what I ate . . . until I grew up and got pregnant! My pregnancies really threw my body out of whack. Since then, I have had repeated cavities and even one impacted tooth! A toothbrush like this would be great.

This toothbrush is actually the toothbrush featured and on display in our dentist’s office. The timer is excellent for kids who have trouble brushing long/thoroughly enough. A wonderful investment for healthier teeth and gums and whiter teeth.
Hubby has an electric toothbrush so now it’s my turn LOL I love the idea of the timer because even myself as an adult doesn’t spend enough time brushing so this would be great to keep me on track.

I have Gingivitis and my dentist said the electric toothbrush is best. I’ve been using the disposable electric brushes but it’s probably not the best environmental choice. I like this brush because it lasts and the UV sanitizer sounds very hygienic.

My mom has been on me to go to the dentist. For some reason I’ve become real lax in my dental visits…maybe it’s the finding child care thing. Anyway. I have thought that I could at least get a better toothbrush but the price has put me off. We have been using an older version of a sonicare for years and it has really made a difference in our oral health. The dentist always raves about how good we are doing at flossing (but I never do). I attribute it to the way this brush swishes the water around your teeth. There’s just nothing like it!

I’ve been using a Rotadent sold to me by my dentist, but I have to soak the heads in listerine to sanitize them and it shortens their lifespan dramatically. The heads cost $10 a piece so it adds up quickly. I’d like to give this a shot to compare.

Lucky you for having a caring dentist. I do have some dental insurance even though it doesn’t really cover much so in order to utilize that at all there is only one dentist in our area that takes it. Every time I go in for my 3 month cleaning he has nothing but negative comments about how I could do this or I could do that and believe me I’ve been doing everything he says. It would be nice to go back in one time and let him see a change then I could tell him that it wasn’t his suggestions it was something I came across on a good blog.

I had a Phillips Sonicare until about 2 months ago when it broke. It wasn’t the Sonicare’s fault – it was mine. Since then no toothbrush begins to compare. When I used the Sonicare my teeth felt clean, got much, much whiter and I had healthy firm gums. The only reason I haven’t re-purchased one is due to budget constraints at this time.

I love the fact that it’s all in one UV sanitizer, charging & storage unit. It has a small counter top foot print. I’m all for healthy teeth and gum’s.
I bought a Sonicare brush for my daughter when she was wearing braces. It made a big difference for her at checkups. I would love to own one too.
These are really great, love using them much better than a muscle powered tooth brush.
Since I used to work for a dentist, I pay pretty close attention to my dental care. These brushes really help minimize tooth decay.
With all the money that my folks invested in dental work and braces, it would be nice to have one of these.

I have the original Sonicare and absolutely adore it!! I used to hate to go to the dentist because I always needed some kind of filling or root canal. I was convinced my teeth were “soft” but now I know I just wasn’t using the right toothbrush. Since starting to use the Sonicare 10 years ago, I haven’t had one cavity! It’s a miracle!

My dentists office also has one of these on display. Interestingly enough, our office will sell these to you cheaper than retail (who knew, right?). I never realized how much difference an ultrasonic toothbrush makes until I got a cheaper model Sonicare. They really make a big difference in how clean your teeth get.

I am a college student who has always had a big problem with cavities. I have tried using drugstore type electric toothbrushes such as the spin brush as well as fluoride mouth rinses to no avail. When I first moved away from home I went for some time between oral hygiene check-ups (measured in years). My dentist said the one thing that saved me – apart from the stern lecture – was that I appeared to be remarkably thorough using my electric toothbrush. And Sonic, though somewhat pricey, pays for itself in dental care. In fact, if you look closely enough, you can see for yourself :)

While I’ve never used one of these ‘newfangled’ toothbrushes, I could certainly use one! My stepfather was a dentist and he told me once that if he had to choose between flossing and brushing he would floss. So, my advice, after getting a good brush, remember to floss!

I have a SonicCare Elite, which is a VERY old model, it is about 8 years old. I LOVE IT, although it is just about coming to the end of it’s dear old life. I am known in my circle as the Tooth NUT! For Birthday Presents all my friends have received a Sonicare! My Dentist and Hygienist love me because when I go in for my 6 month check-ups, there is NOTHING to scrape! I have a sonicare toothbrush, but it’s one of the first electronic ones and I don’t know how much longer it will hold on, definitely on it’s last leg since it doesn’t hold a charge anymore. It’s amazing how far the electronic toothbrushes have come since then!

Wow!! I feel like a needle in a haystack around here! I used to have a Sonicare, but the charger went out, & I haven’t been able to re- purchase one. That’s probably why I have a bad tooth!
I can say that the one I had was amazing & I always had a clean bill of dental health while I used it.
The technology of this makes this a marvel. Teeth are alive and deserve the best, which is this. I’ve wanted one these are so long and the improvement to my teeth and gums would be just like having a mini dental office right at my finger tips.
I recently started having trouble with receding gum lines, which my dentist has suggested could be the result of brushing too aggresively! lol She recommended I try an electric toothbrush instead, but I can’t afford anything that I don’t absolutely have to buy. Money is just too tight. I’d love to have the luxury of treating my teeth and gums with a little well deserving respect! I haven’t had a cavity in 20 years, but my gums aren’t fairing nearly as well.

I have tried a couple of cheaper electric toothbrushes and wasn’t very happy with them. Perhaps I’ll have to bit the bullet and go for a better one. The UV sanitizer sounds really nice as well.

It’s funny that you’re talking about this because I went to see my dentist a few weeks ago and he told me I brush way too hard and my gums are starting to recede (not a ton but enough to be noticeable). I want so badly to have cavity-free teeth that I think I go overboard. He actually suggested this toothbrush….

Ok my hubby brought an electric toothbrush not as nice as this one and he loves it… However, he said it takes getting use to the tingle and tickle of the brushing… So after his lovely review I have been looking and wondering if I could get use to an electric brush after years of manual toothbrushes… If I did this one has features that are WOW
Electric toothbrushes clean better, but try to get a soft brush.

This electric toothbrush sounds great. My dentist always has something negative to say about my teeth and gums during my checkups, so maybe if I won this toothbrush the comments would change.

I’ve never used anything to brush my teeth other than a regular toothbrush. I always figured electric toothbrushes exaggerated their potential. [Well, the toothbrush itself didn't exaggerate...it was the advertising behind it.] Anyway, after reading more closely about the features of the Philips Sonicare Flexcare, I’m thinking maybe I’m not giving these types of toothbrushes a fair evaluation.
I am too suceptible to cavities and i never get to the dentist as often as I like. I’ve been looking for one of these, and people keep reccommending them. I love that they time your teeth brushing so you know how long is enough

Thanks for the giveaway…The UV sanitizer incorporated into the brush storage is a great feature; I currently have an Oral-B Triumph that is about four years old: cracked case from one too many drops on the tile floor & which has a very loud buzz when in use…If I use it too early in the morning before my wife gets up, she yells at me to brush with a manual brush !!!
I am using the disposable battery powered toothbrush currently but am worried about throwing all those batteries into a landfill. I have tried electric toothbrushes in the past but was not satisfied with the vibrating my brain loose feeling. I would love to try this one.
