Miscellany
Mama Speaks just introduced me to a new site: Walk Score. Essentially, you type in your address and it provides a score ranging from 0 (car dependent) to 100 (walker’s paradise). My neighborhood scored a “6.” Yeah…we need to move. And I am totally using Walk Score when we do.
I’m up late and my tummy is rumbling. These Brownie Bottom Ice Cream Cupcakes would hit the spot, I think. {via Joy the Baker}
I could go for a glass of Icy Fresh “Squeezed” Orange Juice right about now too. It sounds positively refreshing. {via Flipflops and Applesauce}
Do you know anyone who is engaged? You have to forward this link to them. Don’t you just love that white dress with the rainbow tulle peaking out from underneath? {via green wedding shoes}

Our neighborhood scored a 35 but that seems a little high to me – not because things aren’t close, but because we have to walk along or cross a 2 lane highway with no sidewalks to get anywhere except the park! I like the Walk Score idea though and have bookmarked it for future use!
Thanks for the shoutout, Stephanie. You’re so sweet!
Found a lot of gems in this post. Thanks so much for Tuesday Tours. I especially was happy to find the Blog Her sweeps, How to find images online and all the fun giveaways to enter. WOW!
Oh and we scored an 11 UGH. I would love to live somewhere we could bike or walk all over. That would be wonderful.
Yay for Tuesday Tours! I probably mess your stats up on Tuesdays cuz’ I’m constantly refreshing until you put it up. And then sometimes things get crazy around here and I have to wait until Wed.
Anyway, thanks for the great links. And FYI, my neighborhood only scored a 3 – and they told me I’m car dependent. They’re right. :)
Thanks for sharing our cookbook information, Stephanie! We greatly appreciate it!
our neighborhood scored a 31 (car dependent). and some of the places close to my house aren’t places i ever go to. i would LOVE to live where i could walk/bike to the store, park, school, and other places. BUT one of the things about walking and riding a bike places is that i want to be able to do it safely… especially since i would have my kids with me. the streets i would have to walk/bike on are two lane, 40mph streets… and people definitley drive faster than that. we do walk to the park, but i can get there by going through the neighborhood. i run around where we live and many people (in cars) just don’t pay attention to pedestrians. so even though i have a grocery store .78 miles away, i probably won’t be walking there anytime soon.
I live in the middle of the country, and my Walk Score is a 3!! I’m surprised it wasn’t a zero, actually! My dream home scored a 68. We’re in the process of trying to buy this house (fingers crossed), so maybe my walkability will improve soon! :)
Thanks for sharing my search for NY & LA moms bloggers! I currently have one on each coast but would love to have at least 2 more on each to get more coverage without stressing anyone’s mommy schedule! :)
I would buy Chino Crop pants in every color!
i never knew Disney did a marathon like the one you mentioned here. i think that’s awesome. trying to convince to my husband that we should plan a vacation around those dates and sign up.
would be so cool!
