Welcome to “Tuesday Tours: What’s Happening on the Web” where I serve as your tour guide and showcase the best contests, freebies, deals, and reads for moms on the web…all in one convenient location.
Contests
I have a Bebe au Lait nursing cover and I use it all of the time. It’s a “breastfeeding essential” in my book. I can breastfeed anywhere – discreetly and comfortably! Enter to win one of your own over at “Deal”ectible Mommies before July 8.
Did you know that JCPenney has a Baby Registry? I took a brief peek at their product offerings and they have some nice things, but I’d like to see more unique products in their line-up (Bebe au Lait, Shower Hug, Majamas pajamas, etc.) and I’d also like to see some in-store amenities for pregnant/nursing moms (nursing lounge, play area for toddlers, free maternity portraits, educational sessions, etc.). All that to say, Mom in the City is giving away a $100 gift card to help promote the registry service. Deadline: July 31.
Cool Deals
DownEast Basics has some classic maternity tees and tanks on sale for $5-$10. That’s a great deal and they look like versatile pieces you could wear for the whole 9 months. Has anyone tried the DownEast Basics brand?

It’s good to hear the in-store perspective regarding JCPenney’s registry. Thanks for including the contest!
I totally agree with the wedding no-no’s, too! We didn’t do any of those things, and I am SO glad!
I think the Moron test (if you can get past the name) is SO fun. I also love Tweetie.
Steph
I think we should know why they pull them off the market, too. Mostly for those who don’t think vaccines are harmful. Whether you vaccinate or not, it’s important to understand that there are potentially harmful substances in them. Knowledge is power.
Nell
I didn’t see the anywhere in the link about the vaccine that it was “pulled off the market”. Shortages in vaccines happen ALL the time. Ask your local pediatrician (or my sister a Pediatric RN). My son couldn’t get his first polio vaccine a few years back because they (the manufacturers) were switching from the needle vaccine to the oral one. As for Nell’s coment, there are potentially harmful substances in the water you drink everyday, the air you breathe and the food you ingest everyday. Knowledge certainly IS power.
Moron test…hilarious!
That photograph just hurts to look at. And, to read that the photographer committed suicide makes it all the more heartbreaking.
i think i opened almost all the links you posted for one reason or another. :) i love the new info and things to check out even if they aren’t always pleasant.
Thanks so much for the linky ;)
The vaccine was recalled because the manufacturer couldn’t guarantee that the equipment was sterile for those particular lots (http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm5650a4.htm)
I’m glad you found my post good enough to link to it! ;)
