FOR HIM: WindowSeat Windshield Mount for iPhone

    By Stephanie | November 25, 2009

windshield mount for iphoneDoes a guy on your list often attempt to type in directions or look at his iPhone while on the road?

Suction the WindowSeat Windshield Mount for iPhone and iPod on to his windshield (perhaps with a big red bow around it?) and he’ll be all set. No more balancing the phone precariously on his thigh or on the edge of the steering wheel. With two hands free, he’ll be safer and more focused on driving.

The one downside of this product is that you have to remove it if you want to use your car’s sunshade – not exactly convenient. This is a semi-large factor for us in Arizona because it’s sunshiny here even in the middle of winter, but it may not be as relevant for those that live in colder, cloudier climates.

I would particularly recommend this product for business travelers and/or people with long commutes.

griffin logoWIN IT! One winner will receive a WindowSeat Windshield Mount for iPhone and iPod Touch (currently on-sale for $19.99) by Griffin Technology. I received a product sample for review purposes.

This windshield mount for iPod is very cool. My almost 21 year old son would love it! He is very into his music and carries his iPod everywhere.

Oh. My. My husband is practically addicted to his iPhone as it is, but he’d LOVE me even more if I won this for him. I think I might just get roses, chocolate, plus a big ‘ol smooch.

(Funny that the first two commenters are both Annettes!)

I live in your “not so sunny” location of Seattle so this would be perfect for us. My husband and I both have iphones and really could use this to make us safer drivers!

Happy Thanksgiving! My husband drives 60 miles one way to work on a daily basis. I worry about hims with his iPhone and iPod! He is probably worse with his iPod than with his iPhone.
      Thanks, Cindi

That’s a cool idea, using my phone while driving is so dangerous! I wonder if it really does help when it’s on the windshield?

Can you keep it on the windshield when you’re no longer driving, or will it melt or something? In any case, Chris might like it.

THAT is a brilliant idea! I just got an iTouch, and I’m loving it. But that would be a great way to switch tunes (only at a stop light, of course.) ;-)

This looks interesting! I think I might like to use it but I really don’t care to take my eyes off the road for any reason. I don’t even usually answer my phone while driving unless it’s hubs. I need a ear bud before I do that. Kev loves my iPhone so much he’s going to trade in his phone for one. Always love to try out new gadgets!

I am not sure this would help, or just make us want to look at the Ipod even more.( while we drive)

I confess, we’re too cheap for the iphone. My brother in law has one though, and I bet he’d love this – it would make a nice Christmas present.

This is on my husband’s Christmas wish list, so it would be so great to win this! My husband likes to use the GPS feature in his phone, and having it at his eye level would be much safer.

My boyfriend and I just drove over 100 miles roundtrip for Thanksgiving, and we used my iPhone for navigation, but didn’t have a convenient place to put it. It wasn’t dreadful, but something like this would have been very useful.

This is a great idea! my hubby scares me with how much work he does on his phone while driving.. am slowly talking him into letting me be his ‘fingers’ the few times a week he drives all of us around. All for increasing the odds of safely arriving at home!

This is great for A “husband” but my husband has a gps and everything, however I don’t have one and I need a stand to hold my iPhone to follow the gps on it. I so need this for ME, the wifey who gets lost all the time!!

This is the perfect solution to our travel needs! when we are on the road we are always using the iphjone for all kinds of stuff! This looks super useful! Does it match with the 3G and 3GS?
