I definitely experienced higher difficulty concentrating. Normally I’m a detail oriented planner type. While pregnant I felt like I’d completely lost my ability to plan anything. Once Elizabeth was born things improved slightly but then when she turned seven months, and my hormone levels changed again I experienced such profound difficulty focussing and remembering things that I had difficulty coping (turns out that post partum depression can hit much later – who knew?)
All that to say that I wonder whether the studies that are showing no change in memory are testing hormone levels in their subjects. I certainly wasn’t one of those moms who worried about losing my memory as the article blithely suggests.
Stephanie,
Looks like a lot of great links, as always! I’m heading over to read about how to get blog posts retweeted… thanks for the info. I hope you and your family are doing well!
Genny
That commercial is one of the best I’ve seen for a while! SO PRECIOUS, and a great reality check!
Thanks so much for mentioning my Melt Your Heart Crayons this week, Stephanie! I always enjoy reading your Tuesday Tours and finding some new-to-me blogs to check out. It made me smile to see my own blog this week. :)
Wow! Thank you so much for the nice compliment on my design site. You are so sweet and I am thrilled to be on your blog!
I am not sure about loss of memory but I agree with the idea that you’ve got so much to think about that you may not be able to focus. At least that is what is happening to me.
I love that commercial. I could watch it over and over again.
