Kleenex Hand Towels – Wasteful or Wonderful? What do you say?

I love the just between friends sale! It can be a little overwhelming and I have only ever attended the night before event for first time moms. It was crowded and sort of like a huge first come first serve pandemonium! You really do need to get there early or on time and just have a relaxed attitude. Obviously some people that go sort of do this as an unofficial profession! We just take our time and try not to sweat the intense people!
In the spring and fall here, there are TONS of children’s consignment sales. I love them. They are a bit chaotic, but I have found some steals. Looking forward to seeing what I can find this fall.
And I think the Kleenex hand towels are a waste. We are trying (it’s been a bit harder since Little Girl arrived… I’ve been lazy) to be paper free. I use rags, cloth napkins… etc.
I’m not sure how I feel about paper-free living. I’ve read so many studies about yuck-infested dish rags, grocery bags, and kitchen towels. Plus, using cloth adds up to lots of laundry. And then there’s also the convenience factor.
I care about the environment and definitely don’t want to be wasteful, but I also care about convenience, time, and the amount of laundry I have to do. ;)
You rock! Just entered the stroller giveaway, love the jar idea, and that MSNBC article was very interesting. Thanks!
Great articles, as always.
We don’t have teh JBF sales here, instead we have Duck Duck Goose and Rhea Lana’s. LOVE them both. I try to buy used for a lot of our things, and of course I hand down my oldest daughters clothes to my two younger daughters.
The Lemonade Ice Cream Pie looks so yummy and refreshing. We don’t have JBF sales, but we’re fairly small and out of the way. It sounds great. I do hit all the consignment shops back home when we visit my mom and I love it. And I personally think the Kleenex hand towels are a waste. I hate when the commercial comes on TV – I critique it and talk back to it. (Like if your white hand towel turns grey/black when you use it, you obviously didn’t wash your hands very well.)
re: the nutritional content of veggies… yeah, our garden produce just tastes so much better when it’s fresh! unfortunately we are always gone for 3 weeks to a month mid summer which makes harvesting really difficult. :( We are lucky we live in a good fruit/veggie agricultural area though so I can buy local.
All the chemicals and modified stuff really scares me. I’ve been researching my face wash and moisturizer this morning… even the stuff made in Europe has nasty chemicals in it. I think I need to start washing my face with avocado or something!
I think the disposable towels are so ridiculous! Did they need to re-inventing paper towels? The marketing plow is your bathroom towel is dirty, but didn’t you just wash your hands before using it?
I mean ploy..
Love the JBF Sale! I have to agree that the pre-sale can be a bit crazy, but I volunteer at my local sale, which lets me shop even earlier and it isn’t near as crazy then.
We’re starting to get fresh veggies from our garden – yummy! Much better than what I buy in the grocery store.
That lemonade pie and the Mom I’m bored jar both look wonderful – completely different, but still wonderful :)
Kleenex hand towels are wasteful.
So going to try the Lemonade Ice Cream Pie! Yum! Also, I think the I’m bored jar is such a great idea. I also couldn’t agree more with the article on Sleeping Thru the night!
Yummy on the lemonade ice cream pie!!! I love the jar idea for future reference. And, I would say Kleenex hand towels are a waste. Also love the sleeping through the night article.
I only rarely use paper towels so of course I think those towels look ridiculous! And the fruit/veggie stuff is just scary. Sigh.
Kleenex towels – a bit of both – not for at home (wasteful) but convenient for camping (wonderful!)
I’m still catching up from vacation emails. Thanks so much for this mention the contest is going great. And I also got around to that “what is beauty” post I intended for my girls. Here’s the link:
