I wonder if Breyer’s ice cream sold in Canada has the hormones, since they are banned here. Hmm.. We mostly buy Chapman’s because they are certified gluten free but I do like to have a bit of variety once in a while!
I got emails sent off to Breyers and Dreyer’s. This was the first I’d heard that artificial growth hormones for cows were designed by Monsanto. Grr. Why is it that Monsanto is the root of every food evil?
I didn’t know Monsanto was responsible for the rbgh either! I’m reading Animal Vegetable Miracle now and she is talking about the soybean issues with Monsanto, plus they were mentioned in Food Inc as well. I had also never read about John Robbins, but what a fascinating man! I will have to check out his books. Thanks Stephanie for once again providing such awesome links!
I agree about John Robbins. A fascinating story. I am now following him on Twitter as a result of that article.
I also added his “Healthy at 100″ book to my library list: http://amzn.to/cxyiDk.
I don’t even want to read about the ice cream. Here I am thinking that Breyers is an okay brand b/c they don’t use artificial anything……off to bury my head in the sand.
Wow, thanks for the heads up on the ice cream. I will definitely stop eating those brands. We usually buy Tillamook anyway (so much better!), but occasionally I am tempted by a sale. No more! Now, I also wonder about the Safeway brand… hmmm.
And that story about the mum and baby… wow, awesome!
I liked the article ‘it’s called schizophrenia’ ….very thought provoking.
The story about the baby coming back to life made me cry! Kangaroo care/mother’s touch really work. Thanks for sharing.
I saw Tim’s post about the passport – great job. You ought to get some great Google hits from that!
Curious about some of the other links. I’ll keep them in mind to check out once the kiddos hit the sack tonight!
What a FUN weekly feature! Thank you for including me! :)
Thank YOU for the oh-so-important reminder.
The baby story!!! Great links! As always!
The baby story was amazing! Thank you for sharing that with us.
