LAST WEEK, we read “Charlotte’s Web” in two days. The next two days after that, we read “The Secret Garden.” Now, we’re on Chapter 8 of “Ramona Quimby, Age 8” (I think that’s my favorite book in the series).
- TODAY, we are almost completely out of groceries. We ate the last piece of fruit in our house this morning for breakfast, along with the last pieces of our last loaf of bread (yes, the ends too)..
- TOMORROW, we are meeting with a lady who spent a few years RV’ing full-time with her husband. We are also going to put our house up for rent, publish more listings on Craigslist, respond to e-mails, ETC. [That "etc." deserves to be in caps].
LAST NIGHT (like every night), Tim & I talked about the risks involved in the Give Every Day venture…the what-ifs, the don’t-forget-to-do-that’s, and the what-about-???.
- THIS MORNING (like every morning), we felt a deep, mysterious peace that seemed to whisper from somewhere far away, “Everything’s going to be okay.”
It may be a little quiet here for a few days as we dive in deep to prepare for the giving tour (tentative plan is to leave in January!).
Do you grocery shop on a particular day of the week (or do you go spontaneously when your cupboards get bare)? Do you shop at the same store every week (or do you vary your route)?
* Also – We are looking for new chapter book recommendations. Have any?
Welcome to “Tuesday Tours: What’s Happening on the Web” where I serve as your tour guide and showcase the best contests, freebies, deals, and reads for moms on the web…all in one convenient location.
Thanks so much for being a part of this
On the other hand, I prefer the lyrical every day posts…the creative writing…the give-and-take that happens on posts revolving around meaningful content.
Tim & I like to hike. When we began having babies, we had two options: (1) Stop hiking and wait until all of our kids were old enough to hike on their own (that might be a long time coming…) or (2) Carry the little ones. We decided on the latter.
ERGO recently sent me their newest Performance Carrier ($120) in Spring Green to review. I was giddy when it arrived. You see, this is the “ERGO for outdoor people.” It has all of the same great features as the original ERGO, but it’s lighter in weight, has a more durable exterior, and is lined with mesh for better breath-ability.
So. I bet you want to ask me, “If you had to choose between the organic carrier and the performance carrier, which would you choose?” That’s a tough one because they are VERY similar. I almost couldn’t tell the difference. If you intend to use the carrier at least semi-regularly in outdoor pursuits, I would say to get the performance.
We were driving down a mountainside last month and both girls were asleep in their car seats. I looked over at Tim and a sudden feeling of admiration came over me…and kinship over shared joys. I said, “I’m so glad you love the outdoors. My life could have been very different if I had married someone who didn’t share that passion.” His green eyes smiled at me in agreement.
See those boots that Tim is wearing? They’re the Rainier eVent WPi boots by Hi-Tec. Built for backpacking, they are sturdily constructed and offer excellent ankle support. He can walk through water, mud, and rocks – without worry about water seeping in. Even though they protect against anything getting IN, they’re still lightweight and breathable enough to be supremely comfortable.

I’ll let you in on a little secret about Tim. Back in the day, he used to be in 4-H. He had a special horse named Charlie. He told me all about it on our second or third date.
