Thanks for the mention!
Also – Nashville has a play area for kids, and it’s fantastic! http://flynashville.com/shops/music_entertainment.aspx
Somehow I’m not surprised! We were in Nashville last month and it struck me as being a very family-oriented city. http://metropolitanmama.net/2011/04/travel-with-kids-nashville/
I’m honored! :)
The Minneapolis/St. Paul airport has a sweet play area that we took full advantage of on our 4.5 delay the other week! :)
As for mosquitoes, I don’t know what to think…I grew up in Michigan, and have yet to have a mosquito bite. I always thought it was because of eating lots of bananas, but turns out I had the wive’s tale wrong, since the article said eating bananas won’t cause you to get more bites…oops!
Ezra on the other hand gets massive welts from mosquito bites.
I get massive welts from mosquito bites too. I’ve heard that is an indicator of being mildly allergic. I should google it someday…
Oh, the Grand Rapids, MI airport also has a (small) play area. The nice thing about it though is that it has sliding glass doors so you can make sure no one escapes!
When we flew home to San Diego from the Vancouver BC airport, I was pleasantly surprised by the play area. It had an awesome play structure with a couple of slides and a also a big television set up playing cartoons. My son had a blast!
Thank you for mentioning my post, Stephanie.
I have been looking if JFK has anything for kids but did not find anything except for a tiny area with toddler toys in jetblue terminal.
I wish JFK had more than that :(
SInce you mentioned one of my posts about kids areas, I will add another one – this airport in Siberia, just recently built public bathrooms, but they made sure to add a room for kids and parents :)

It’s been a long time since I flew anywhere but the last time I flew into the Sacramento Airport they had a small play area for kids..it just had a few climb on toys,l but it was great!
Yes, in my travels I’ve seen other airports with the play area. Brilliant!!
Regarding the mosquito article, I’ve always been a mosquito magnet and also unlucky in that bites swell up quite large on me. I find it interesting that they mentioned more mosquitos when pregnant – I had the opposite experience. Not a single mosquito bite during a very pregnant summer in the “South.” They seemed to gravitate to my husband then.
The Milwaukee airport has a small kid’s play area. It’s mainly geared for the 5 and under crowd. Definitely a lifesaver!
The Salt Lake City airport has 2 small play areas.
SLC seems like a very family-friendly place! We hope to visit there someday – perhaps later this year? :)
