SLY Awards: Learner’s Bibs by Baggino

boy with stuffed animal SLY Awards: Learners Bibs by BagginoKristen‘s 14-month-old son is a mega-cutie (see left).

She’s told me in the past that he usually makes a mega-mess when he eats. To this, I say, “Welcome to the Club” with a wide smile.

Our girls, for example, manage to cover our floor and table with sauce, vegetables, fruits, and bread crumbs after almost every meal. Tim actually has been known to say, “Other kids don’t eat like this!” in frustration. I, however, don’t think too much of it because I know that other kids do indeed eat like THAT (right?…RIGHT?!?).

Lo and behold…the Learner’s Bib by Baggino, the revolutionary bib with long sleeves and an extra-long front. It really COVERS your baby and his/her clothes. Plus, it can also double as an art smock or a baking apron.

The bibs are made of soft terry cloth, they’re easy-to-put on, and they’re machine-washable! It is obvious that this is a product that was designed and invented by parents because it’s clearly brilliant.

To stay up-to-date with all of the cool things that Baggino is up to, you can become a fan on Facebook or follow on Twitter (the Twitter page is brand new).

Congratulations to Kristen McGee…the very 1st recipient of a SLY Award here on Metropolitan Mama.

kristen m sly awards Somebody Loves You, Kristen McGeeKristen is a giving, thoughtful, and intelligent woman. She and her husband currently work in language and literacy development with a linguistic NGO.

Pre-kids, they spent a year in an immersion language program and lived in SE Asia. Now they live on the east coast with their 14 month old son…and they have a second baby due in late May!

When I asked her about volunteer work, she said, “Nothing out of the home right now… I volunteer a lot of my time (ok, all of it!) to my child. That’s the best place… and someday I hope to get more involved in the community… with my kids’ help!

The best place indeed.

Won’t you join with me as I celebrate Kristen over the next few days and shower her with surprise gifts hand-selected just for her? Oh, and YOU will have a chance to win all of the products too.

If you know Kristen in real life or if you read her blog, you can get a second entry in all of the giveaways. Simply leave a comment on this post with one thing you love about her. Then, leave a 2nd comment on each giveaway post that says, “I gave Kristen a genuine compliment” or something like that.

Introducing…the SLY Awards

I’m launching a brand new feature here on Metropolitan Mama…to honor and celebrate everyday people who are doing good things in the world.

somebody loves you Introducing...the SLY AwardsIntroducing…The SLY Awards (short for Somebody Loves You…or, alternatively, Stephanie Loves You). Every 2-3 weeks, I will be featuring one person [or one non-profit organization] who is an inspiration to others – someone [or some group] who infuses creativity, compassion, and cheer into the local and/or global community. I will “surprise” the person or organization on my blog with an assortment of gifts from sponsoring companies.

The SLY Award winner will receive 5-10 products that uniquely fit his or her personality or interests. I will then give the rest of you an opportunity to win those same products!

I’d like to point out that the SLY winners may not be doctoring the sick in Kenya or heading relief efforts in Chile (but it’s possible that I’ll pick people who are doing that too…). They will be people who are good, kind, thoughtful, diligent…in the every day (even if that every day consists of blowing noses or singing silly songs or crafting blog posts).

sly awards Introducing...the SLY AwardsCool, right?

Stay tuned. I already have my first winner all picked out and I can’t wait to make her day.

{It’s pretty fun to be sneaky}.

P.S. Those are my eyes in that picture over there. Tim took a photo and then worked his PhotoShoppy Magic. Impressive.

More changes to come – plus, watch the top of my page for a slick SLY page…coming soon.
