Being a new mom creates a sense of awe, wonder, joy, and fulfillment that is unparalleled. It also creates a beautiful and unusual attachment. During pregnancy, I thought that I would happily leave my infant for a girl's night out or a meeting with a friend at a coffee shop. Then, my little one arrived and I wanted only to be with her - to stare at her every feature, to protect her, to hold her close to me. Plus, it was hard to find people who were trust-worthy enough - how could I leave that priceless bundle in anyone's care? On top of that, I would have to pay someone to watch her - while I sat miserably sipping a mocha latte - thinking of her and missing her.
Needless to say, it's sometimes hard for new moms to find time to exercise because it's hard to find time to do anything. Fortunately, there is a way. New companies are now sprouting up that allow moms to work out with their babies. Yes, you can use your baby as a weight as you do push-ups, sit-ups, and lunges. You can bring your stroller and powerwalk. You can get healthy with your baby right beside you.
