A few days ago, my 4-year-old folded all of the laundry. She came up with the idea all on her own. Then, she said, "I fold laundry even better than you." [I didn't argue].
She put it all away too.
And she did a REALLY GOOD job. Not just for a 4-year-old. For anybody.
Almost every morning when she wakes up, I say to her, "I missed you when you were sleeping."
And I mean it.
Must be 4 year old little girls...mine is obsessed with cleaning, fine by me because I'm not a cleaner. Cool blog, glad to meet you, we live full time in a rv, found you from twitter and sara's live lightly twitter.
Nice to meet you, Lynne! We're going FT in January. Where in the country will you be this winter? It would be fun if we crossed paths... :)
Stephanie...HI! I can't believe how "grown up" she's getting...
It's amazing that she folded all the laundry and put it away (she did a great job).
Oh my goodness! My 5 year old might help fold small kitchen towel but that is it. She does have to help with putting her clothes away.
Does she do e-courses for other four-year-olds? Seminars, maybe? ;)
I also miss my kids while they are asleep.
wow!!! that's so impressive, and i'm sure exciting for you to have a laundry helper!!
It is so fun when they want to help. She does look very grown up in this picture!!
This is special! She must have been so proud!
Such a cutie :)
Good job! My 3 year old and 4 year old LOVE to help with the household chores. From sweeping, to vacuuming and even the dishes! They are great help, and I just love their joy and energy they put into it!
I just love the sense of pride little ones get from helping. Levi helps do the laundry too. He puts the clothes into the washer and dryer, and he's always so pleased with himself. It puts a grin on my face.
What a clever girl! My three year old "helps" with putting the laundry away, but it's not exactly tidy. Still, it's cute :)
Something about that age and helping just seem to go hand in hand. Love this age!
Nell
What a cutie patootie!! I love that she helps with chores! Kyleigh is just three and surprised me the other day by folding some towels. She often puts her clothes away and loves that responsibility, but I am quite excited about her taking over the whole job! Laundry = blah. to me :)
PS> I am about to buy your ebook and get on it! I just have to get some courage and a good name first!!!
Don't know you Janelle but I am working on that courage thing too. We can do it!
I love including Shane in my work. Granted, that usually makes every job take 3 times as long...but hearing his excited "I did it!" after he does something successfully melts my heart every time! Isn't it amazing watching our little ones grow up!
we're working on expanding Piper's chore list. It's a beautiful thing, for everyone involved!
What a beautiful sweet heart she as :-) don't you love it when you little one seen you do one task so many time that they just take it over to try it :-)
What a gal- all of you :). I feel the same way re: missing 'em when they sleep. Even midway through the much anticipated naptime somedays- I start yearning for one of my sweet smilers. Don't they smell fantastic when they first wake up? Other worldly.
Wow ~ great job! What's the secret?
What a fabulous girl! She is looking so grown up! Aren't you just blown away some times by how old they seem? How grown up? How responsible they are becoming? You are doing such a good job raising your girls!
Nini, your gift is encouragement. Thank you so much for sprinkling kind words across the blogosphere...and into my heart.
